On Friday, July 14, Billy Riggs was sentenced to serve 90 years in prison for sexual assaults of minors, for a series of sexual assaults on children that occurred in Triangle.
Riggs pleaded guilty to one count of rape and four counts of aggravated sexual battery in July 2022.
The investigation into Riggs began in 2019, when authorities got a tip Riggs had abused a child starting when they were 4 years old in December 2011. The assaults continued until December 2013, police said. Riggs was an acquaintance at the time. Then, a 9-year-old victim was identified.
Riggs was captured in North Carolina, where he was convicted of another sexual assault. Two more victims in Prince William County came forward, too.
